How to Use a Pin-iT Card

Get your uniform aligned faster with a repeatable, inspection-ready process. Start with the quick steps below, then pick your branch guide.

Quick Start

The 6-Step Pin-iT Method (Works for Every Branch)

  1. Start with a clean, pressed uniform.
A crisp uniform makes alignment easier and keeps your final placement consistent.
  2. Identify the item you’re placing first.
Ribbons, nameplate, badges, collar devices, shoulder marks, or cover rank. Use the matching guide for your branch if needed.
  3. Align the Pin-iT Card using the reference lines.
Use the etched lines and holes as a repeatable reference instead of re-measuring.
  4. Mark placement points using the correct holes.
Lightly mark or pin through the correct points to maintain symmetry and spacing.
  5. Attach the item and verify level + symmetry.
Stand back, check alignment visually, and confirm the item sits square and centered.
  6. Repeat for the next item in a consistent order.
Most users go top-down or inside-out so each piece references the last.
Common mistakes
  • Placing items on an unpressed uniform (your reference shifts).
  • Skipping the “stand back” check (small tilt becomes obvious on inspection).
  • Mixing placement order each time (inconsistency creeps in).
